"Sent by Jesus, we set our sails to
be filled by God's Spirit,
inspiring us to praise,
grow and serve."
St. Barnabas has recently begun a partnership with a Lutheran congregation in Hong, Nigeria. St. Barnabas is one of many congregations in the Minneapolis Area Synod that is partnering with the synod's companion church, the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria.
This fall, Ann & Andy Dybvig will travel to Nigeria with a delegation of about twenty people from the Minneapolis Area Synod, giving them an opportunity to visit and bring greetings to the congregation in Hong.
To help raise the funds for the Dybvig's trip ($6,000), the Nigeria Task Force is sponsoring a Nigerian dinner on Saturday, May 17 at 6:00 p.m. Nigerian friends of Darin & Christina Troftgruben will prepare a buffet of traditional Nigerian dishes.
As this dinner is a fundraiser, we ask for a minimum donation of $15 for adults and $7 for ages 5-10 (kids 4 & under eat for free), but larger gifts would be much appreciated.
Reservations are requested. Sign up at the table in the narthex or call the church office (763-553-1239 by May 15.
