Piano

Solveig (Snoo) Foley received her BS degree from the University of Minnesota with piano as her major instrument, studying with Earl Rymer and Thelma Hunter. She continued her study of the teaching of music to children at Hamline and St. Thomas Universities, receiving certificates in both the Orff and Kodaly teaching methods. She has served as president and on the boards of the local chapters of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association and the Organization of American Kodaly Educators.

Solveig's teaching experience includes over 20 years with private piano students, 14 years as public school classroom music instructor and several years as church school music leader. She has been a church organist and accompanist over 35 years.

Encouraging children to reach their potential has been her passion both professionally and personally. Her great joy has been the raising of four children with teacher/musician husband Dick. Family, grandchildren, exploration of her faith and connections with her Norwegian heritage all take high priority in her life.
