inspiring us to praise, grow and serve."

To Grow - The growth envisioned here is not numerical growth, though we firmly believe that every congregation is called to increase in numbers as it shares the gospel with its surrounding community. The growth we aspire to is personal growth in faith, a life-long process which is as important for adults as it is for children and youth. "Grow" should have a footnote, directing us to the Education Goal which we established in 1993:

St. Barnabas' goal for the education of its members is:

• that they become life-long participants in worship
• that they learn the content of the Christian faith
• that they can express this faith to others

To Serve - The Christian faith is always a personal faith, but it is never a private faith. Jesus' teaching continually points us to others - "love your neighbor as yourself", "do unto others as you would have them do unto you", "I came not to be served, but to serve". The generous stewardship of our time, talents, and money is the foundation of our Christian service.
