Value of an Endowment Fund
Gifts to the St. Barnabas Endowment Fund provide the value of giving support to congregational ministries far into the future. Gifts will be invested with The Lutheran Community Foundation to generate a permanent source of income to charitable causes. This approach ultimately increases the value of every dollar given.
Example:
One-time gift to Foundation: $10,000 Grants generated to charity over 50 years: $28,356 Value of gift after 50 years: $12,231 These figures are based on a fund which distributes grants at the Foundation's recommended annual rate of 5%, a 6.3% annual investment return and an annual administrative fee of 1%. It doesn't require great wealth to make a gift. One hundred gifts of $100 to the St. Barnabas Endowment Fund go as far as one gift of $10,000. Small gifts in honor of baptisms, confirmations, and birthdays are welcome!
